So I got covid last week and finished pokemon and then remembered that I had this game just sitting in my library on the third chapter, so I decided to dive on in there. I have played so much Harvestella in the last week. A ridiculous number of hours. The good news is I really like it!
The part where it's a mix of a farming game and an RPG is very strange at times, and the farming tool upgrades come maybe a little too slowly, but overall I think its a pretty good one of these. The farming and cooking has enough to it to make me want to play an extra set of seasons just to finish every town's grocery list, which is rare!
The RPG part is bonkers. The combat is super shallow but I wasn't expecting much in the first place and the job switching to combo is fun (and, granted, basically the only mechanic). If you want a farming game that has a weird stock jrpg story stapled onto it you can't really go wrong here imo, pick this up on sale.
edit: Oh and! this plays great on the steam deck on its lower resolution. I played a ton of it that way and it's great.
