I thrive on introducing people to things. Most of my streams, I spend half the time encouraging people to join in on the things I'm doing. I've dragged countless people into randomizers for games they've never even played vanilla. I host tournaments and events to get people invested in new games, or in old games in new ways. I write anime reviews in part because I watch a wide range of stuff and I know someone who knows me will be interested in a show, even if it's basically never the same person twice.
But I am also terrible at actually getting people to try things. I spent years and years in my server trying to get a couple of friends into Pokemon RandoBingo unsuccessfully - and then someone else suggested it and a week later they were playing. I have an active Discord community of people who watch and support each other but almost never interact with anything I'm doing (other than expecting me to keep the Discord running smoothly!)
And like... give me your wisdom, people of the internet. How do y'all get people to care about the things you care about?
