Holy shit. .hack// has become a running joke in my stream server because the few of us who watched it all said it was impressive how little happened in so many episodes, so I had low expectations at this point beyond background noise, but this is bad.
It's sort-of designed for kids, in that the humour is mostly slapstick bullshit, but the jokes that do exist are mostly just kind of offensive and never, ever funny. It's also creepy in that anime stereotype way - I have a pretty high tolerance for anime bullshit and hate stopping shows partway through, and even I nearly dropped this entirely.
Anything that wasn't awful was basically just .hack//SIGN again. Not gonna waste more time writing words about this, and probably won't waste any time on .hack// anime again after this one.
