finally actually looking into legally changing my name~ πŸŽ‰
holy shit why is everything in the uk so goddamn convoluted (okay okay i know why but why). The default advice on the government site is to have someone who has known you for 10+ years and is a homeowner sign a declaration, and then they have to get that witnessed by a solicitor.
Seems like that isn't actually necessary, just advised, which is good because I know exactly one homeowner and they have no idea where they'd go to get the declaration affirmed. :')

Yeaaaah. I'm not even considering looking at gender markers yet, that's a whole other problem that I'm just not willing to deal with yet honestly (and also can't! because you have to have lived under your new name for years before they'll even consider you anyways!)
I'm at least glad I (seemingly?) managed to circumvent a lot of the bullshit here. I can get my name and title changed apparently, and that's more than enough for me rn.
