Got a friend to start playing their first ever SMT-esque game - Persona 3 - and two things stand out to me:

  1. It's so wild watching someone who's used to mostly action games using items in jRPGs. P3, and MegaTen as a whole, are pretty stingy when it comes to certain items, and you absolutely need them in some places, so that's a swift learning curve (and makes a pleasant change from the classic "hoard all your items for the final boss" jRPG player!)

  2. SMT skill names are fun and absolutely nobody has any issues understanding what Agilao, Mazionga, Megidolaon, Recarmdra, and so on mean. :)
