I get to post a couple of seasonal reviews before Cohost falls
Off to watch Alya's final episode now & write that review at some point tonight, so I can cleanse my palate of whatever the fuck this show was. Not watching another explicitly comedy anime any time soon. 🥲

I watched the first episode of Nokotan and, unsurprisingly, I did not enjoy a single bit of it.
Thankfully, that was less because I didn't like the humour and more because it was basically just the first trailer with a lot of slow buildup to pad it out - which like, the pacing there is probably gonna stay a problem, but at least there's gotta be more new stuff from here on out, right?

I still know I'm gonna end up hating this one but I pretty much never drop shows so I'm here to suffer for the next couple of months 😭

This trailer's been getting passed around my Discord server lately, and I feel it's only right to bring it here.
Airing next season, this is Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan, or the translated name of My Deer Friend Nokotan. The fact that the trailer is such a high-effort shitpost this far out from the release date speaks volumes, and I'm gladly¹ going into this knowing absolutely nothing about the manga. Just an absolutely baffling watch from start to finish, and that's the best damn advert it could be.

1. Okay, not quite gladly. This is the kind of over-the-top surreal comedy I normally don't like, but I know for a fact I'll have fun talking to people about it, if nothing else.

Not as, uh, captivating as the first one, but like... I will still hate-watch this whole damn show while everyone else I know will love it 🙃
