Person-first language centers the person, not the identity that makes them weird and uncomfortable to be around. By using person-first language we can all build a more inclusive workplace where we can bring only the socially acceptable parts of ourselves to work.

How do you use person-first language? Please refer to this handy dandy guide. Note that some marginalized folks don’t like being referred to with person-first language - these people are wrong and should be ignored.

Instead ofSay
White PersonPerson
Straight PersonPerson
Cis PersonPerson
Autistic PersonPerson I think might be whispers on the spectrum
Trans PersonPerson with some freaky gender shit and “pronouns”
Gay PersonPerson who I’m totally not uncomfortable with but I just don’t want them to flirt with me

Remember - with person-first language our differences no longer matter. Because ultimately, we’re all part of one race - the human race
