Shueisha/Manga+ tried to use AI for lettering in one of their new manga, and seriously, who tf approved that shit for an official release?
Idc about the manga itself, but no author deserves to have their work officially shared in such a butchered way (unless author's an AIbro who wanted that)
Thankfully it seems that they updated it with work done by an actual person, and it really makes it much better (first pic is AI, second one is the actual translator who had to do the lettering on top of it). Though I hate the fact that the AI company's still credited.
It's really annoying that executives need to face serious backlash instead of thinking for two seconds whenever it comes to AI
Most people hate it, it does a shit job, and it'll only lower the company's reputation; which in the long run doesn't make it worth it financially. Just stop pushing it and let people actually do their jobs
