if it was in the sky from the general direction of california, you might've seen FLTA-003; rocket launched last night as part of the "victus nox" program, headed by the US department of defense. not a lot of details other than testing "how quickly can we put something in space in an emergency"

i was gonna guess something similar since it definitely looks like a rocket on ascent through the upper atmosphere with the plume like that
