I’m still early into learning computer programming and web development but I keep seeing people say “handwritten code” and I have no idea what else there is like what are people doing that isn’t typing code to make stuff

In the context of web development there's definitely a lot of generators for HTML/CSS so it doesn't need to be written by hand, like Markdown Plus or blog generators or, I guess, stuff like Squarespace. But I haven't seen the term used much so I can't say exactly what it's about.
I don’t know why anyone would generate anything ever that seems silly to me
