I'm not like a big linux nerd or anything. I prefer it for anything server related I do now and I'm running Debian 12 on both of my regular style laptops. My main desktop workstation is a Windows 10 Pro machine and my usual daily carry is an iPad Pro with magic keyboard attached. I'm just giving this background so people aren't like "well of course you think this."
People tend to write off Linux users as some sort of tech evangelists or something whenever they bring up valid criticisms of proprietary software and hardware. I don't give a shit what operating system you use; play Halo 3 on a calculator for all I care.
But, I swear to G-d every single time I see someone say "Linux sucks," the reasons they list are actually "proprietary software/hardware sucks."
One complaint I see often is NVIDIA cards not working well with Linux. I am sorry to say, NVIDIA doesn't really like the idea of being open with developers from what I understand. A proprietary piece of hardware not working is entirely the issue of the hardware developer. Talk to NVIDIA, not FOSS devs.
Linux systems are constantly having to apply flex tape style hacks over the crimes of proprietary software/hardware and that is entirely on the capitalists running tech.
I just don't think people consider that these are volunteers releasing free software. It's like yelling at a soup kitchen worker for the tomato soup not having little pieces of basil in it while the governor of the world is deploying his array of basil plant extermination machines.
Linux does not "suck." Capitalism sucks. There are larger fish to fry.
