I drew my profile pic and banner. The gameplay in the banner is from dragon quest 1 for game boy that I recorded myself.

i think the difference between "physical media" and "digital media" (or whatever the conceptual opposite of physical media is) is the physical media contains only The Thing on it. it is The Thing, as a physical object. a hard drive contains Many Things (generally).

the dvd /is/ the movie while the hard drive /contains/ the movie

Official super famicom and game boy cassettes that allowed players to go to the store to get multiple games on the same physical cassette, and like you have to consider multi movie DVDs, or multi season ones, book anthologies, no storage medium has ever been restricted to just having one thing on it

yeah but when someone says physical media its a shorthand for a copy you can hold. a dvd with the grinch 1 and 2 on it would be a physical copy of the grinch 1 and 2. you could also just download those 2 movies and have a digital copy that you cant hold, and then you could burn it and create a physical copy you can. buying a thumb drive with an album on it is a physical copy while those same files in a larger collection wouldnt be. its a useful and imprecise shorthand that doesnt hold up to close scrutiny because it doesnt need to
