I think I managed to dispel my Balatro obsession after watching this guy "win" (i.e. break) the game by forcing the blind go to over 1e308. 1e308 is big enough that it can't be read by the game's code and results in NAN, making the game unplayable. He did it without cheating, and anyone can replicate it using the original seed for the run (MIGMJ28Q) provided you have the patience (it took him around 4 hours to win).
Knowing that the game has an upper bound has dulled the impulse to chase higher scores, freeing me to return to my normal life.
