what kind of breakfast do you like to have? personally i’m a big fan of a bacon and egg sandwich on a bagel, but also right now i’m eating a cinnamon raisin bagel with garlic cream cheese and it’s surprisingly good
I usually like to have steamed white rice with tsukemono, scrambled eggs, and some type of tare seasoned meat as sides. That usually means spam, but occasionally I’ll have this canned tare seasoned mackerel that they sell in the Japanese section of the local Asian supermarket instead, because I feel lazy. I buy like ten cans at a time and it’s pretty good, so it’s nice to have the fish around for lazy days. Sometimes I just eat that by itself when I’m feeling extra lazy. I just heat in a pan for a while.
Occasionally though, I make my own shakshouka recipe and have it with sourdough. The way I like to make shakshouka takes several hours though so it usually ends up being brunch. I try to wake up by 5am every day though so if I can manage to get my day started instead of sitting on my phone I can have it for normal breakfast hours.
Some days though, a ham, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich from the gas station is all I could ever want from this world.
