Format Shifting is really a labor of love bro at least when it comes to like ripping CDs and DVDs etc, I'm sure there's people with computers and mostly automated setups for it but it's like I have one disc drive and a decent computer, it takes like 16-20mins to rip one disc, and then when it comes to movies I encode them into a more efficient format once ripped which takes another 15-40mins depending on the movie and how many special features there are and shit, and then it's like I have to transfer the files over the network onto my media server which takes forever currently because my server is using fucking wifi instead of ethernet, I'm going to be digitizing some VHS tapes soon which is going to be such a nightmare because I literally just have to let the entirety of each tape play, like fuck that's going to take so long, but I'm going to do it, because it's so cool to me
