That one shining, brief moment in history when computers became small enough that you could take them with you in your pocket, but before they became a network. They were your friend, not each other's friends.
All computers are a mistake, but networked computers are the mistakest.
I have to disagree, devices with networking capabilities are very cool to me, I can send a jpeg from my phone to a folder on my computer when I am at home, this is what computers were meant to do, send jpegs over a local network from device to device, try to not send a jpeg from device to device over your local network to prove me wrong, you can’t prove me wrong, because it’s not possible to not do that, I must send many jpegs across devices daily, it’s what I was always meant to do, I have to do it or they’ll stop paying me, they’re not paying me to say all of this though, my observations do not reflect the views of my customers, but they pay me to send jpegs over the local network between devices, they don’t know they’re paying me to do it, they don’t know that’s most of my job, but I do it, it’s honest work, it’s what I was meant to do, and computers were meant to do it for me, send files via the local network between devices, they invented it for me to do it so I could do it for my customers who don’t know that I do it, that’s why they gave sand a transient soul
