Semirelated to my previous mall chost, I recently had the chance to walk through both the Mall of America and Destiny Mall and had a good time in each.
Of the two, I preferred Destiny. Mall of America was a little too antiseptic, but Destiny had more than a few corners in clear need of maintenance, and just a tiny amount of that good filth. It also had a terrifying suspended rope walkway. I'm not sure the former two things are that great for its long term prospects but they're very good for the vibe in this moment.
