Having made a couple video essays as a hobby, I've of course wondered what it would be like to do so professionally. Every time I have, I've concluded that it would be absolutely miserable. A copyright claim from Toei that held up my Voltes V video left me listless and embittered for weeks. I couldn't imagine how it would have felt if on top of that I had money on the line.
