gunbuster's final episode is 16:9 letterboxed from 4:3 so the recent discotek BD release has it as just the zoomed 16:9 AND has an open matte 4:3 version as a special feature and i just think that's neat
which is to say, yes, how dare anyone remaster a 4:3 show as 16:9, assholes
Discotek is pretty great about cropping. I got their Project A-ko Blu-ray and it includes the theatrical 16x9 and the 4x3 open matte that was released on laserdisc in Japan as a reference quality home theater type disc for the time period.
