Optimistically nihilistic. Likes jetpacks. Flying solo for now, but a co-pilot would be nice.

Follow me on Bluesky if you actually want to keep up with me.

Long live Bionicle.

Oh, hey Zalno !
I thought you'd like it more here, ever since I joined I have been subjected to much more furry material than ever before in my life. XD
I'm super impressed by many of the artists I've found through reposts etc. but gosh is their stuff often racy and NSFW.
I checked your link to Mastodon and it does seem much more ... family friendly ? Could just be the surface though.
What's the deal with Mastodon, how would you pitch the platform ? I don't really think of joining tbh, unless there's another exile.

It's the Twitter equivalent that's championing the Fediverse. Imagine if every social media website could talk to each other with a standard protocol. You could follow people on Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, whatever all from your Twitter account, see their posts, retweet, comment, etc. That's basically what Mastodon is positioning itself as.

I'll be honest, most of my furry friends are jumping ship to Mastodon and I went with them. But at least now I'll be more likely to use CoHost from time to time. Even if it is to troll qtoid with more furry shit.

So would that mean that I could follow people from Twitter without making a Twitter account (seems too good to be true) or is it something to which you need to link existing accounts ?

It's more complicated than that. I honestly don't quite understand it all myself. Basically, as long as a website supports the ActivityPub web protocol, it can (in theory) interact with other websites that use the same protocol. Meta's trying to get in on that with Threads, which caused a number of instance owners to block Threads on sight.
