alex your light novels are very fun & sweet <3 i really liked Feline Therapy especially!

i haven't read Her Majesty The Prince yet, but every time i see a snippet pop up in my timeline i go "ooohh"... i'm excited for when i start it...

ah, question! what made you go blue? it's a very pretty blue ✨

thank you so much!! I'm so glad to hear you liked my books <3 <3 <3

please let me know your thoughts on Her Majesty The Prince should you ever get to it!! :3 after playing Boss Game I'm especially interested in your perspective on it ^^

as for the blue—it's my favorite color! I came across the cyan/marine undercut wig by chance at GenCon in 2018 and instantly fell in love with it. it was the first time I felt comfortable wearing short hair after transitioning, too; I guess it took 3 years on HRT for my face to finally feminize enough for that to work for me ^^

I have a ton of different wigs in all kinds of colors, but this particular one will always have a soft spot in my heart. it's why I bought out the rest of the Five Wits inventory when they discontinued it! :D

Maybe you’ve answered this before, but are you generally the kind of author who plans things out in advance, or do you just write and see what happens? My creative energy has usually been spent on running TTRPGs for my friends, so my natural inclination is to go seat-of-the-pants style, but I wonder if some outlines might be helpful. What do you think?

I've always been a plotter!! always!! writing Her Majesty The Prince by the seat of my pants chapter by chapter has been the most exhilarating and terrifying experience of my writing career. but also it's taught me to trust my future self more, and leave doors open even when I don't know where they'll lead, and that's been such a fun adventure.

I want to write more books like this now. I don't want to give that up.

THAT SAID: my outline notes file for Her Majesty The Prince, which basically is a giant bullet point list of plot stuff, is LONGER THAN CAT WISHES. so even as an obligate pantser, I've still found a way to plot here and there ^^

@Kaj-Naidlav asked:

Since you said we could ask about the writing process, I wanted to quickly ask how you manage to avoid burnout on your stories? Or how you make sure you maintain the creative juices to keep a story going even if you reach a point where your creative juices run low? (I ask only because I myself am having major writing and reading burnout and it's making me kinda sad how I went from loving reading and writing one month to stat watching the next... so any tips to get back to the loving reading and writing stage would be awesome, lol)

this is a tough one. I haven't found the answer myself, to be clear, especially as I moved from full-on manic hyperfixation to "just regular writing work" with my current big project.

it sure helps to do the usual things, of course; take breaks, go outside, walk, do things that are just Fun Relaxation Time and don't engage your brain so you can recover. these things you're probably already doing.

but if I had to pick one: find a fellow sicko. and hold on to them, and never let go.

nothing keeps me going like someone who's complicit with me in this adventure, someone who's excited to see the next chapter. there's no motivator like it in the world. <3
