I feel sad that cohost isn't getting enough attention
This site is so good...

Bluesky gets more afraid of being cool and weird by the second and cohost is chockablock with my kind of people. It's the only place I have any actual faith in. It does everything people are constantly saying social media should do and doesn't do any of the shit they constantly complain about social media doing and yet people are still like "eeeeh maybe idk"

I honestly think everyone is better off, even people that run their own business selling stuff, with less or no numbers. At least on normal social media, on places where you're directly selling things sure. If you're not selling shit you really don't need it. It's bad in so many ways.

But it's a big mess out there

I'm always happy to see artists I like show up here. And find new ones too!

It's not a scummy capitalist platform trying to make users addicted to it, so its growth in popularity with be a slow burn that'll depend on word-of-mouth, but I'm fine with it being a niche site. I'd prefer to see the major sites dead and the internet go back to being a lot more decentralized. Instead of having subreddits, go back to something like forums that are hosted across different sites. Have servers actually mean servers, unlike Discord just arbitrarily calling guilds "servers". Stuff like that

I tried bluesky then quickly realized it was making me feel like shit the same way twitter did, and I couldn't even have any privacy while I was at it.
Bsky is on some bullshit and it's only probably going to get worse once vc gets their grubby mitts on it.
