You will never satisfy them. You can peel away everything that makes you yourself and it won't be enough. Because they have never been brave enough themselves to do anything but conform, even within a position of privilege, and have thus made mediocrity a virtue. They negated themselves to fit in and they can't stand to be reminded of what might have been.
Having said that, I understand the desire to hide, especially recently. You, we, are not like those people. The worst they will suffer for stepping out of line is a rude comment or two, a whisper behind their back; we could die. If you must wait for your opportunity, do so.
