When coming up with characters for like bun bash dandy demon ect, have ya ever pulled any pieces of them from yer irl experiences?
The premise of Dandy Demon is very much inspired by my early adult experience. Specifically being a suburban trying to traverse the city.
When I started the series, I was still living with my parents. Twas an okay upbringing, but living in a Midwest suburb can be lonely, and going to the city was a very nerve-wracking experience.
I've since moved out and have been living in a city for the past couple of years, and the difference is night and day. As a result, I feel like I can actually tell the story I want, and I feel my characters have improved because of it.
