I love these stories of people outing themselves as creatures.. it's probably super embarassing but also kind of sweet? I dunno it's nice to know there's a lot of nonhumans out there. As for barking, I'm not too sure, I think the trick is to not vocalize the word like "woof", but focus on making sounds instead of words, if that makes any sense. I'm not an expert on this, I still have a long way to go to learn how to bark well.

I can realistically bark and meow and all sorts of shit. It just takes practice? I spent a lot of time as a kid listening to animals and learning to mimic them.

For barking, it's all about opening up your throat. You're not saying a word, you're forcing air to resonate. Try saying an R and an O at the same time, and then hold the note like you're singing it, then gradually open your throat up a bit more. That's the core of the sound. Then you get the actual bark by kind of hiccuping the air into that sound, and then let your lips come in and close it of for the f-sound at the end.

You can play around with that feeling to do things like howl and change the tone and texture of the bark.

Meowing is a little different for sure because you're doing a much tighter throat movement. Try saying a high-pitched E, but then let your tongue move the noise back in your throat until it resonates, then give it more airflow. It shouldn't be squeaky, if it squeaks you went too high. If you try imitating like, a tornado siren noise, you can pitch and control that to sound like a meow.

Purring is harder because it's all deep throat vibration. Sometimes I can't do it if I'm not hydrated well enough, it comes out too much like a growl. You have to kinda...vibrate your tongue and the back of your throat together, it's much much harder to explain and may not even be possible for some people.
