this has happened multiple times and i cannot describe the emotional gut punch of having something explained to you by the person who holds the patent on it. you've never had a conversation before in your life where you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the other person has every single answer and you cannot possibly disagree with them. it's like speaking to god
I approach every conversation like I must somehow know what I'm talking about more than whoever I'm talking with and encountering someone where that's objectively untrue might cause me instant ego death
