What was that restaurant from Williamsburg a few years ago that had a menu where every item read like this. I remember "city toast" and "an cheese"
(This is related because people were making Achewood jokes about it even back then, like it was a restaurant run by Raymond)
apparently from what i can dig up it's related to one @laureneoneal on twitter with the response to -some- post from them being:
' “A CHEESE”
This is the most Achewood thing I’ve seen outside of Achewood. Its font choices are even evocative.
It is a menu made by Lyle and Téodor after a weed and whisky-filled evening where they rope Roast Beef into laying it out for them.'
however @laureneoneal's account is private so i cannot dig any further
I must've misremembered it as "an cheese" but yes that sounds right! I am determined to find it now.
It is somewhat a sigh of relief that this is Williamsburg, Brooklyn, at the height of Hipsterdom and not the williamsburg reenactment z0ne in Virginia, where I would hope they would have the good sense to know how to typeset things even if it's all 'ye olde' and dirty caslon
This menu is absolutely unhinged. I am in awe of several different axes in which it is unhinged
