pisses me off when pointless projects that consume massive amounts of energy are justified by saying they're run off renewable energy. like, okay sure the fucking Sphere is run mostly off of solar power or whatever but that's solar power that is not being put towards other uses! renewable energy is not free, you still need land, materials, and labour to produce that electricity, all of which are often in limited supply. rule one of sustainability is and always will be don't waste resources on stupid shit
