classic flick! some really great casting and performances in this guy
a little bit shinier, more polished than the first one. feels a bit more self-assured, a movie that knows it's a blockbuster following up a blockbuster.
The action is more intense and propulsive than the first, every doc ock scene is a treat in a way that goes beyond the power rangers-esque joy of 2002 green goblin. on the other hand, I really find myself noticing the change in screenwriter and I don't think it's mostly for the better. something about the blend of naturalism and comic book unreality in the first movie's script really does it for me. this one takes it in a different direction, away from quirky comedy-drama and more towards high romance. it's not totally unsuccessful, but I think we lose out on some of the original's charm.
really though the main cast all still do great work and all of the spider man shit whips ass so like. why am I complaining this movie rocks
