since i'm a big fan of early 3D and old videogames, i've bought three different versions of myst in the past over the years (the 3DS eshop port1, the "masterpiece edition" on GOG, and a copy of the original i found at a thrift store) and yet despite this i've never actually played it for more than like 5 minutes or even just sat down and watched a playthrough of it? i only even know the bare minimum of what it's about. i know more about uru live than i do about myst
i think this makes me a fake fan of old PC games or something but i kind of just think im more a new type of guy they invented in a lab
(the actual less funny explanation is that while i like old point & click games - myst-likes especially - in theory, something about the genre is like poison to my ADHD-ridden brain so i can never find time to sit down with any... so instead i just look at the pretty screenshots and go "that's awesome man" before walking away)

the 3DS port is like stunningly bad, by the way. the graphics are so horribly compressed basically none of the vitally-important text on anything is legible, and the controls are hard to deal with. honestly this is probably the main reason i haven't played the game by now, i had a lot more free time to sit down and play it back when i bought that port, but...
