ngl i'm kinda weirded out by the whole ">when the random e-celeb you dislike for just being dumb and annoying and unfunny finally is outed for a legitimate reason to dislike them" meme. especially when it involves sensitive topics like discrimination, SA, CSA, etc. like yeah i get the whole schadenfreude thing and all, but. why would you rejoice over the dawnfall of someone when it implies that innocent people were harmed in the process? 😶 to me it... doesn't feel like you care that much about the hurt they caused in the first place?
tbh i think that's because the very premise of the meme is wrong. like fr, you don't need a strong justification or deep reasons as to why you dislike someone, really. some people are annoying, or you just don't vibe with them - that's okay! trust your gut, you don't have to like somebody because they aren't a convicted criminal or whatever. the world is a big place, there are plenty of people to get to know and it's no use losing time or energy over people that don't catch your interest. especially online when you can just ignore, mute or block those who piss you off. in fact, mute and block as many people that piss you off as you want. i'm dead serious: if all they do is bringing you negative emotions, why bother? just... don't be weird or obsessive about it, i guess? because hoping that someone a little too silly for your taste will get into some nasty shit just so that everyone will end up hating them seems a little too weird and obsessive to me. and sometimes, i'd say it even tells more about you than the person you dislike, actually. 😬
