The whole counteroffer to the WGA from AMPTP is insulting, but I find especially patronizing the offer for the AMPTP to "offer annual meetings to discuss advancements in technology" as an alternative to protecting writers from losing their jobs to AI. Awareness of the technology isn't the issue, people are already aware of how damaging the technology is, and how hard executives are salivating at the idea of replacing highly paid people with unpaid AI. Suits won't be happy until they entirely destroy the concept of paying people for art.
