I liked it here.

There was a lot I never got to explore here. It was cool watching everyone else though. Maybe someday I'll open up like that too.

The lack of metrics is part of the reason I like it here so much! It's hard to get used to after getting fed numbers dopamine for so long but it feels nicer. Healthier.
I do really wish it was easier to see more of what people are saying on posts I'm already looking at though! That's why I'm on social media. To be social.

yeah, i've been pretty bothered by a lot of the complaints because they speak about cohost as though it needs to change for people who aren't the core userbase. some complaints or desire for features i sympathize with (and some of them don't go against the point of cohost!! so i support those) but idk, if someone needs numbers than they can go to pillowfort or a mastodon instance, there are options!!

as one of the new people, I also heavily agree with the lack of an algorithm, it brings me back to my web forum days. the metrics i don't really care about, but I was never a metrics chaser, the mindset just seemed off to me. (if I wanted number go up, I'd play cookie clicker?)

honestly as someone struggling to advertise their art to tumblr for like 5 years, I get as much engagement on my work here as on tumblr because tumblr is a pretty horrid site for artists. So even coming from there to here, its about the same. And knowing that my art is being shown in about the same frequency here as on tumblr, a website with an algorithm shoving shit down people's throats, that's kinda cool.
