I liked it here.

There was a lot I never got to explore here. It was cool watching everyone else though. Maybe someday I'll open up like that too.

The attract mode to Money Puzzle Exchanger (1997) is yet another example of Neo Geo pixel art perfection

Gif from "Money Puzzle Exchanger" (attract mode, 2D pixel graphics). A woman with long blonde hair moves quickly across the screen- in her place, a single coin spins, with flowers on one side, and the number "100" on the other.

Gif from "Money Puzzle Exchanger" (attract mode, 2D pixel graphics). The flowers on the coin in the prior gif "bloom", and their pedals blow away, revealing a woman with dark purple hair. She spins in place amidst the pedals in the wind.

Pixel art is often thought of as being lower effort than traditional animation, and to some degree I even agree with that (someone who has worked in pixel art more than a little).

But I look at this and the amount of effort this kind of animation takes in pixel art is pretty staggering. I know how easy it can be to obsess over sub-pixel placement, so doing these big, beautiful, cel-animation-style sequences seems like it would be hell. There's so much on every frame to get picky about.
