Spoilers, I guess.

I'm glad I got to watch Nimona. It really hits close to home in a lot of ways, but the ending in particular really made me cry. It's the most fantastical part of it, this beautiful dream that if you could just sacrifice yourself hard enough, all the people who demonize you will suddenly see you as a person. But also somehow you get to survive doing your perfect suicide that makes everyone realize they were wrong, and you get to experience that outpouring of love and validation.

the way they show all the unmitigated joy of care & acceptance, only for it to be suddenly taken away; the way they show it's not one betrayal, but the history that in our darkest moments compounds only the worst parts...

it meant a lot to me
