I think anyone reasonable could take 2 seconds to understand your usage of pour out means that's the part you get rid of, but the image of what this person must have been thinking is very funny to me
i have graciously elaborated to that confused person, maybe they simply have never had to pour out something and leave all the grit in the bottom
if i were public water filtration i would simply make a giant tilted pot and pour it out
