I wrote about Nine Ball in detail in my "best 80s pinball tables" thread.
As I said there:
There have been a lot of pinball tables about pool. There has been only one where the artwork they decided to go with was 'exploding pool in space vs. a wizard'.
I like what Stern (not that Stern, the older one) did with Nine Ball, making a table with long-shot goals you can shoot for, along with other viable scoring options, one of which is the always-satisfying "light the spinner and rip it". I like drop targets, and I suspect they designed this machine so they could show off their electronically-controlled drop targets with a "hit the targets in order" mechanism.
Bord's recreation of Nine Ball in VPX feels physically accurate to the way a 1980 machine should play. You can download it here.
