genuinely one of my fav narrative/adventure games of the last few years with some really excellent slow-paced worldbuilding, absolutely a STEAL at this price.

Excellent game, I wish there were more of these. (This is a low-key invitation for recommendations.)
if you want other mechanics-heavy narrative games I thought were good:
- Sorcery! 1/2/3 (Classic gamebooks with diverging paths and an RPG magic system)
- I Was A Teenage Exocolonist (multi-run focused narrative game focused on coming of age on another planet, heavy focus on thoughts re ecology/colonization/militarization etc)
- Citizen Sleeper (dice focused narrative survival rpg, play as an android and try to escape your corporate masters for good)
- The Pale Beyond (narrative arctic survival sim, keep as many people alive as you can after being stranded in an arctic glacier, deal with internal politicking etc)
Have played Citizen Sleeper and Teenage Exocolonist, will check out the other two (or five). Thanks, Aura!
GOG's also doing a sale of this, though it's $6.59 instead. No client required, though!
It's also on Itch, but not on sale atm. But it doesn't take 30% of the cut like Steam and GOG do and also doesn't require a client.
