there's like this whole genre of hypermasculine sea shanty-esque Viking/Norse/whatever music where these choruses sing about rowing boats and swinging swords and shit, and like... it's 2024 my dudes, and like country music fans who will never sling a bale of hay in their lives, I don't think Viking music fans are out there forging The One Sword out of mithril or whatever

and the tragic thing is that, like... i think there's a golden opportunity being missed here in the idea of someone who has an identity strongly linked to norse-type stuff to grapple with the modern day, not in a fashy "RETVRN" way but in a modern worker solidarity way.

I guess I just want to hear a Viking sea shanty about how Vikings get through a day of replacing and rewiring server racks in a bullshit data centre somewhere. Maybe such a band exists? I'm not into that genre of music, but the thought of it popped into my head this morning and yeah, I think there should be Viking sysadmin music
