You know what sucks about all of this? It's "crossing the line" to express our full rage to these techbro assholes who I guarantee don't give a flying fuck about whether or not we artists live or die. Every single conversation I've had with these prompt-fuckers eventually ends with a snide remark about artists who have spent their lives honing their craft being obsolete now, or some reference to the Industrial Revolution as if that was the best time ever in history to be a worker. Dig down deep enough, and every single one of these prompt-fuckers will reveal their revulsion of us. They resent that they've had to pay us for work that they don't even see or value as work. You know how many times I've been told to "get a real job"? Been laughed at or cautioned away from the mere thought of art school? Been told that I'd be a "starving artist"? Or conversely, been told that my prices are too high, why can't I work for less than minimum wage, or for free?
But we have to be polite. We have to smile and gently shake our heads and agree to disagree. All viewpoints are valid here, don't you know? This is, after all, a democratizing technology that will put the power of creation in reach of even the most unskilled person. How dare we be elitist, eh? How dare we hog all that talent and skill to ourselves selfishly while we cackle and roll around on our money-beds!
So no, don't make death threats to the poor techbros who will slowly "democratize" every facet of human existence for fun and profit. Don't you know they've had a hard enough life as-is? We're better than this! We're civilised, so please be jobless in a civilised way.
