Ado is just a hawmless twansmasc ( •̯́ ₃ •̯̀) you wouldn't throw your shoes at him would you (•́⍜•̀)

where's the story about astarion picking his name? where's the story where he realizes that he's free to be who he wants to be, and he's free to grow up now, to claim an identity, to have a name?

a hundred years following the events of bg3 he's a cleric of loviatar and a chosen of gale ("It's a long story, darling, and we don't have the time for it just now."). only a quarter of a century ago did he really start considering a name of all things, having been, at first, unsure he deserved one, and then unsure if he would live long enough to make it worth his while. in fact, he's watching an old aquaintance die of old age, the second generation of a human family he's played house with in his travels, when he realizes the true scope of this whole "name" issue.

he's still a Little Star. he's outgrown that name three times over by now. he's not little anymore, and he's not sure if there's some method to choosing a name that he should be aware of. it hasn't been nearly long enough since the death of his- no, the death of that vampire, for him to heal (if he's ever truly going to heal at all) enough to feel comfortable seeking out anyone who may have known him before the setting of his tombstone all those years ago. but gale has always been a fan of such menial mortal tasks as research and may even have some time to spare to help his chosen on this ambitious undertaking.

it's time, perhaps, as gale's chosen's adopted family buries yet another granddaughter-mother-grandmother-late great grey that "Astarion Ancunin" rediscoveres a culture he thought he was no longer welcome to. It's time for him to find his name.
