"There are so many good fanfics out there that will never get finished. I kind of wish I'd never read them. But I'm an adult; I'll just deal with it I guess."

i only responded with "That's valid, haha"

i wondered, in my head, how common this sentiment is. do people really feel so much enmity and anger toward authors that simply lost their spark (or their lives, or their health, or their peace of mind, or simply just moved on)? are there truly people out there who require closure so much that it prevents them from enjoying what's here in front of you?

people who derive pleasure only from the act of crossing the finish line, and not from the journey itself?

can you not look at a work and see that it exists and that somebody wrote it and worked hard to create it, regardless of the fact that it is "unfinished"?

idk. i know this is a difference in how i see the world around me, clashing with somebody else's perception of the world. I just can't help but feel saddened.

i read those abandoned works and those stories left forever on hiatus. they aren't forgotten. they may not have ending but they were loved at some point, and so i will love them again now
