extremely not a fan of the wording of that art trend currently going around twitter ("to get this i had to survive this"). i really dislike the idea that unrefined art is something to "survive" until a certain undefined point where your art is "refined enough".
having hated a large part of the art i made when i was younger for a long time i get where it's coming from but. gods it just makes you so entirely miserable to think like that and, i would argue, it also shows on your output because you start denying yourself from doing stuff that you like in the name of some bs perception that it's "beneath you" and such
