the walgreens fridge tv died, and tvs are opaque so now it's physically impossible to tell what's inside the fridge
the employees have taken photographs of the fridge's contents, printed them on the largest paper they can get out of the photo-printer kiosk, and fucking taped them to the screen
over the next few months about half of these died. Rather than going completely black they just played ads on loop, never displaying drinks, and the employees taped "cooler out of order" signs over them. So it seems like the actual fridge part died somehow, and you just couldn't buy milk or alcohol from walgreens for most of the summer lol
eventually they addressed this by buying portable coolers with regular doors and double-parking them IN FRONT of the broken ones, halving the navigable aisle space. You can see the tvs are still turned on, entombed behind the new fridges
(also you can see the dead one with the printed food photos, still unchanged after several months)
but then
a couple weeks ago I again visited walgreens.
they have at last removed the tvs entirely and replaced them with regular-ass doors
congratulations everyone lost a fuckton of money and nobody could buy drinks for four months and we're back where we started. great job guys
