my favorite trope in video games is when the player character is considered canonically a bit inscrutable because players do weird things in video games
in Destiny for example, intercepted enemy logs will describe Guardians who do ridiculous things like crashing their Sparrows and then dancing with each other
in Final Fantasy XIV, some characters comment on how stoic the Warrior of Light can be, with one character even commenting on how strong their neck muscles look due to all the silent nods of approval the player character gives; and adventurers in general are known to do reckless and absurd things for even only marginal gains
i love it when games justify weird player habits in the canon
