Every single person who works in the health insurance industry should feel ashamed every day of their life.

The industry shouldn't exist - it's a scam that preys on the inelastic nature of healthcare (EVERYONE needs health care. It should not be a "free" - read "rigged" - market)

Just noticed a line in my coverage details about:

"All coverages are subject to medical necessity review. Benefits are not provided for services determined to be experimental/investigational. Please understand the benefit information is not an authorization or guarantee of payment."

So they can reject anything at any time for any reason - no visit or procedure is guaranteed. What's the point of insurance then???

Worse still, the people doing these reviews aren't even certified healthcare providers who have ever even talked to the patient. They're rando pencil-pushers determining your healthcare needs from afar.

We need universal healthcare, and the removal of private interests from health services.

Inelastic markets are only hotbeds for exploitation and cannot be subject to free market capitalism, by definition - you cannot have supply and demand driving a system where demand cannot be controlled. Market forces do not exist when your well-being depends on the goods and services rendered.
