wenchcoat system:
🍯 Akhra (or Melli to disambiguate), ratel.
🐲 Rhiannon, drangolin.
🦡 Lenestre, American badger.

unless tagged or otherwise obvious, assume 🍯🐲🦡 in chorus; even when that's not quite accurate, we will always be in consensus. address collectively as Akhra (she/her), or as wenchcoat (she/her or plural).

@JuniperTheory

all the random video games and movies and shit that were like "we invented this new type of animal" and every furry went OHHHHHHHHHH

you've got renamon, chocobos, splatoon squids, all of pokemon, zoras

what else. hit me with the famous fictional animals who invented a New Type Of Fursona

note: this doesn't include Original Species Do Not Steal that were like, made specifically as to be fursonas and such. i'm talking about when a media company was like "here's a new type of monster" and accidentally gave 2000 people gender

in reply to @JuniperTheory's post:

While it's impossible to credit to a single piece of media for this, the progression of Kobolds from just a regional variant of goblin mythology to purposefully ugly rat-dog-goblins in AD&D to perhaps the most prolific reptilian 'sona species short of proper dragons themselves is positively wild.
