I haven't played enough of it to know for sure but isn't there a fairly early choice on which of the branching paths you want to take in the game? I once heard someone refer to one of the early choices as picking the "bootlicker path". XD
without spoiling it too badly, a few stages in you're ordered to carry out a false flag operation. if you do, your alignment becomes Lawful.
the not-spoiled aspects make it vastly worse
