  • onion greens: stick to my esophagus; reflux for hours, sometimes a couple of days
  • mushrooms: instant retching, runny stool if I manage to force+keep them down
  • hops/cannabis: hypertension, cluster headaches
  • tomatoes: feverish headaches, gastrointestinal migranes
  • lettuce: colitis for most of a week, so bad at its peak that I have trouble walking
  • bananas: I supertaste them, the sensory overload is unpleasant
  • things that are mostly fat; incl. mayonnaise, avocados, bacon: yeah I just don't like these, still fuck you tho

D: The idea of supertasting bananas is one of the most horrifying food based situations I've ever heard of. Knowing what the soul of a banana tastes like is some "staring at the face of an eldritch god" type shit. The only thing I can conceive that would be on par with that is being able to supertaste honey. @~@

interesting! taste is often an element for me too... honestly the first comparison that comes to mind for me with raw tomatoes is "like a beesting." not the pain, but the actual flavor of sucking out bee venom with a touch of lymph. hops are atrociously bitter, and green onions just taste oily and acrid.

mushrooms I can't describe very well since the flavor is uniquely and powerfully associated with my body's immediate rejection, but that's an interesting case because it's actually just A. bisporis (button, cremini, portobello, etc.) — never had an issue with any other edible fungus. but, shiitake flavor is close enough that it makes me anticipate retching.

lettuce is the stealthy bastard of the bunch. I love lettuce. used to eat it almost daily, and for a long time thought I was developing chronic ulcerative colitis that I could do nothing about. 🤦‍♀️
