Thats funny wrt to the oligarch thing. I made a similar joke when i wrote a medium article about JPRGs and the lost decade in Japan. I didnt know that was an actual experience when you try to explain oligarchs to mainlanders.
It was very weird ahaha, I forget what we had been talking about but the word "oligarch" came up and everyone was like "what the heck is that, do you mean a MONARCH?" And I had to be like do you guys... not know what an oligarch is... 😭
